Description
This is a sewer gas lamp located 15 metres south of No. 235 on Rural Lane in Wadsley, Sheffield. It dates from the late 19th century and was made by the Webb Lamp Company. The lamp is constructed of cast iron and is painted red. It features a conical shape with a domed cap, supported by curved brackets at the top of a fluted round column that has a bulged foot and ladder rests. The lamp stands on a round pedestal with a plinth, and on opposite sides, there are moulded panels displaying the maker's name. The lamp is complete but was not working at the time of the survey.
