Description
Sawn Moor Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed, squared sandstone and features a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys with attics and consists of three bays in a double-depth layout. A wallstone plinth runs along the base. The central entrance is a 20th-century part-glazed door that is framed by an ashlar surround, complete with plinth blocks and a keystone with a ledge. On either side of the door are 20th-century casements that have sills flush with the plinth and flat arches with keystones. The first floor has four-pane sash windows with projecting sills and keyed flat arches. The roof is twin with shaped kneelers, chamfered gable copings, and truncated ashlar end stacks. To the right, an attached wing wall with shaped copings conceals a pantiled lean-to. On the left return, there is a small attic window on the right gable with a keystone, and a similar window on the opposite gable.
Inside, the farmhouse features a front staircase with slender, square balusters and a rear service stair made of stone.
