Description
Hardwick Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century, with alterations and extensions made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed, squared sandstone and features a roof made of Welsh slate and pantiles. The original L-shaped plan includes a wing at the rear left, with a later wing filling the rear-right angle. The building has two storeys and an attic, with three windows on the first floor.
The farmhouse has an ashlar plinth and large quoins. The central door is set in a raised ashlar surround and is flanked by 20th-century casement windows that have projecting stone sills and lintels designed to resemble voussoirs. The first-floor windows are sashes with glazing bars, flush wood frames, and similar sills and lintels. There are damaged kneelers and ashlar gable copings, along with stone end stacks that have bands. On the left side of the building, there is a stair window.
