Description
Sandbeck Lodge Farmhouse is a mid to late 18th-century farmhouse built for the Sandbeck estate. It is constructed from coursed, dressed magnesian limestone and features a pantile roof. The building has two storeys and is arranged in a 1:3:1 bay configuration, with the central bays projecting forward and three gabled wings at the rear.
The farmhouse has a plinth and rusticated quoins. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door topped by a fanlight with radial glazing bars, all set within a raised, quoined surround that includes an impost band and an archivolt with a keystone. This impost band connects to the flanking round-headed sash windows, which have glazing bars and projecting sills. Above these windows, there are sashes with glazing bars on either side of a blind window, which is situated beneath a shallow pediment. The outer bays each feature a 16-pane sash window with a projecting sill and flat arch on both floors, and there is a small casement window with a projecting sill and flat arch located at mid-height to the right of the first bay.
The eaves cornice extends over the outer bays, and the building has shaped kneelers supporting the coped end gables. The left end has a corniced stack, while the right end features a stack with a band. At the rear, the central gable includes a square-headed stair window with a keystone and flat arch.
