Description

This is a house located at 31 Main Street, built in the early 19th century. It features coursed, squared sandstone with brick on the left return and rear, and has a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with two windows on the first floor. It has large quoins, and to the left, there is a panelled door with an overlight set in a quoined surround that shares the end quoins with the adjacent property at No 29. To the right of the door, there is a sash window with glazing bars, which has a projecting sill and a tooled lintel; a similar window is located above it. Above the door, there is a small 6-pane casement window. The house also features shaped kneelers and square-cut gable copings, with brick end stacks, the left stack projecting from the gable. The left return has brick water-tabling, while the right return is roughcast. This building is included for its group value.
