House, now three premises with shops and offices. Late C18 with C20 alterations. Stucco with painted stone dressings and slate roof. 3 storeys and 7 bays, 1:5:1, central three bays pedimented. Late C19 and C20 shop fronts to whole width of ground floor, shop to left with fixed small pane bow window and recessed glazed door in pilastered surround with consoles to top. Two central shop fronts have deeply recessed lobby with moulded elliptical arch to rear. Continuous first-floor band, acting as sill band to five central full-height unequal 15-pane sashes, each with simple semi-circular ironwork balcony to front. Central sash set in moulded architrave with crested cornice on moulded consoles, flanking sashes with raised keystones. Beyond to either side smaller 12-pane sashes also with keystones, and projecting sills. Above 7 6-pane sashes, all with projecting sills, central one set in moulded architrave. Moulded stone cornice and pediment, the latter with central laurel leaf circle decoration. Large brick ridge stacks to either side of five central bays. No 41 has central staircase to rear with thin column on vase baluster, and wreathed mahogany handrail. 6-panelled doors in architraves.
