Description
37, 37A and 39 Market Place are two shops with offices above, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building features a stucco facade at the front and rear, with coursed squared limestone on the sides, and a Welsh slate roof topped with ashlar ridge and end stacks. It is three stories high and has a three-window range. The first and second floors each have a combination of 2/2, 6/6, and 2/2-pane triple sash windows with timber mullions, set within moulded timber architraves on the left and right, and a similar 6/6-pane sash window in a moulded timber architrave at the center. The ground floor includes two 20th-century shopfronts with plate glass windows and glazed doors, surrounded by a 19th-century stone frame that features Doric pilasters at the far left and right, flanking a central 20th-century door, with a frieze and moulded cornice above. The building has rusticated quoins at the left and right angles. The interior has not been inspected.
