Description
The Lawn Wood statues and freestanding pedestal, dating from the 19th century, are located in Hickleton Park as part of the Hickleton Hall estate. There are three pedestals, two of which have statues. The central pedestal is aligned with the south front of Hickleton Hall, approximately 300 metres from the house, while the flanking pedestals are set back about 40 metres from the central one. The central pedestal features steps, a moulded plinth, and a cornice leading to a coursed ashlar die, but it does not have a statue. The side pedestals are similar in design but have different mouldings. The eastern statue, depicting a female figure in a classical pose, is missing its right arm, while the western statue is an armless and headless male figure positioned against a tree trunk. These statues are associated with a 20th-century summerhouse that is now in a derelict state nearby.
