Description
The retaining wall and balustrade with urns at the east front of Hickleton Hall date from the early 20th century and incorporate two 18th-century vases. The structure is made of coursed, squared limestone with a concrete balustrade. The low wall is divided into five bays, featuring a convex bay at each end. There are square dies at the ends and at each bay division, which connect to the balustrade. The 18th-century vases at the end dies are gadrooned and fluted, each holding a bowl filled with carved flowers and fruit. The intermediate dies have gadrooned urns made of concrete. This feature is included for its group value.
