Description

Rest Haven is a house dating from the mid-to-late 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of cement-rendered brick with a pantile roof and features brick end stacks. The main part of the house is two storeys and an attic, with a three-bay front and a two-storey wing extending to the rear right. The front features a central part-glazed door sheltered by a canopy supported on shaped brackets. Flanking the door are four-pane sash windows within flush wooden architraves. The first floor mirrors the ground floor with narrower four-pane sashes, and includes a centrally located, segmentally-arched recessed panel. This property demonstrates group value as an example of an 18th-century dwelling in Bawtry.
