Description
This is a row of five houses located on Tenter Hill in Thurlstone, dating from the late 18th century. The houses are constructed of coursed squared stone and feature a stone slate roof. They stand three storeys high, with each house having one bay. The buildings have quoins, and houses numbered 1, 5, 7, and 9 include a ground-floor entrance along with a two-light flat-faced mullion window on both the ground and first floors. House number 3 has two single lights on the ground and first floors. House number 1 features a two-light window on the second floor, while number 3 has a four-light window. Houses 5, 7, and 9 share a continuous 13-light window, which includes a sill band and three blocked lights on number 5, creating an ordered appearance. The windows are a mix of 20th-century casements with glazing bars and 19th-century four-pane sashes. The row is topped with four ashlar ridge stacks.
