Description
Bridge Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, with an earlier core. It is constructed from deeply-coursed, squared, and horizontally-punched sandstone, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The main range has three bays, with an outshut to the rear right and a wing to the rear left. The building is two storeys high and features three windows on the first floor. The central door, from the 20th century, has a shouldered plain ashlar surround with a frieze and cornice. On either side of the door are 16-pane sashes that have been renewed and are currently boarded up, set in square-faced surrounds. The first floor has three similar windows, with the narrower central window having a much-damaged sash. The building has paired, moulded stone gutter brackets. The left end stack is missing, while the right end stack, built into the wallstone, has a moulded cornice. At the rear, there are remains of double-chamfered mullion windows in the outshut, which are now enclosed within later additions that are not of special interest.
Inside, the earlier core is indicated by a visible timber wall post in the first-floor room to the rear right. The building is currently unoccupied and in a state of disrepair.
