CAWTHORNE, LANE HEAD ROAD (north side, off), Former aqueduct over Silkstone Beck at north east end of former Barnby Basin approx. 150 metres north of Barnby Bridge

Former aqueduct. Circa 1802 (date of canal). Ashlar. The fronts have splayed sloping sides with copings and a band. Silkstone Beck flows through a round tunnel approx. 3 metres in diameter which is reduced towards the centre to approx. 1, metres, and is approx. 10 metres long. The canal flowed over the top at 90x but was infilled in the 1970s.
