Description

This is a milepost located approximately 100 metres south of the junction with Bents Road in Hazlehead. It dates from the late 19th century and features a cast-iron triangular front with a rounded top, mounted on a stone post. The raised letters on the milepost indicate distances to various locations: New Mill District, Thurlstone, Huddersfield (10 ½ miles), Sheffield (16 miles), and Holmfirth (5 miles). Please note that the cast-iron front of the milepost is broken.
