Description
This is a mile post located on the west side of Penistone Road near the Bay House Hotel. It dates from the mid to late 19th century and features a cast iron triangular front with a rounded top mounted on a stone post. The inscription reads: "HOLMFIRTH ROAD WOOLDALE HUDDERSFIELD SHEFFIELD 8 MILES 19½ MILES HOLMFIRTH PENISTONE I½ MILES 7 MILES."
