Description
Wickleden is a house that dates from the 17th century or early 18th century and has recently undergone extensive alterations and additions. It is constructed of coursed rubble with quoins and features a raised stone slate roof with carved kneelers. The house has new moulded stone brackets. The entrance is located to the right and has a Tudor arched lintel that has been raised. To the left of the entrance, there is one 3-light and one 4-light double chamfered window, both with new mullions. On the first floor, there are two 3-light double chamfered windows that have been enlarged vertically and also feature new mullions. The rear elevation has been extensively rebuilt but still retains two 2-light windows and one single light, all of which are double chamfered. The first-floor double chamfered windows are replacements. A new projecting stack is present. The gable wall has two double chamfered 2-light windows on the ground floor and one 4-light double chamfered window on the first floor, which has new side mullions. Little of the original interior remains. An adjoining former barn has also been extensively altered and rebuilt and is not included in this listing.
