Description

Scholes Methodist Chapel is a chapel built in 1860, constructed from hammer-dressed stone with rusticated quoins. It features a stone slate roof with gable copings. The chapel has a three-bay gable frontage and four bays overall. The central doorway is framed with an architrave and a moulded cornice supported by simple capitals. There is a single light on each side of the doorway, each with a round arch, keystone, and impost blocks. The glazing may have been added at a later date. A plaque above the doorway reads: "PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHAPEL ERECTED MDCCCLX WE PREACH CHRIST CRUCIFIED."
