Description
The 8 Miles Post near the Bay Horse Hotel is a mile post dating from the mid to late 19th century. It features a cast iron triangular front with a rounded top, mounted on a stone post. The inscription on the post reads: "DUNFORD ROAD WOOLDALE DUNFORD HUDDERSFIELD BRIDGE 8 MILES 2½ MILES HOLMFIRTH 1½ MILES."
