Description
This milestone, located approximately 30 metres south of the junction with Bare Bones Road in Cartworth, is a late 19th-century milepost. It features a cast-iron triangular front with a rounded top mounted on a stone post. The raised letters on the milestone indicate the following distances: Dunford Road, Cartworth, Huddersfield 9 miles, and Bridge Holmfirth 1¼ miles, 2½ miles.
