Description
This milestone, dating from the early to mid 19th century, is located in the wall of a petrol station approximately 50 metres west of number 156 on Dodworth Road in Barnsley. It is a stone post with a round-arched top, featuring clear inscriptions that read: "Barnsley 1 Mile Manchester 3 5 Miles." The stone shows some erosion and is set into a low stone wall.
