Description

The gatepiers, gates, walls, and railings to the churchyard of the Church of St. George date from around 1821. The structure features octagonal ashlar gatepiers with plinths, moulded caps, and an iron overthrow. The gates are simple iron designs. The low wall is made of squared rubble with shaped coping, and it is complemented by arcaded cast-iron railings that have ornamental finials. There is a small gateway on the north side that includes a contemporary gate and overthrow, continuing the design of the railings. This structure is included for its group value.
