Description

The Song School of St Olave's School is a house that has been converted into a school, dating from around 1835 with later alterations. It is built of yellow brick with painted stone dressings and has a slate roof.

The exterior features a symmetrical facade with two storeys. The two outer bays project forward as straight-sided, two-storey gabled bay windows, each containing paired sashes without glazing bars on both floors. The first-floor window in the recessed center is a sashed window. There is a porch made of painted stucco that slightly projects forward, supported by pilasters without capitals. It has a plain frieze and a cornice that extends as a storey band. The doorway features a semicircular head with a keystone, moulded impost blocks, and a plain overlight, and the door itself has four panels. The eaves are overhanging and modillioned, and there are gable chimneys. To the left, there is a single-storey wing that is blank except for a blind recess, and its left-hand gable has a tall tapering rectangular chimney cap. The interior has not been inspected.
