Description
St. Olave's is a house located on East Street in Fritwell, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century, with some mid-19th century alterations. The building is constructed of coursed squared limestone, featuring some ashlar dressings, and has a Welsh-slate roof with brick gable stacks. It has a central-stair plan and an added rear wing, standing two storeys plus an attic.
The front of the house has two windows, each with 12-pane sashes set in wide plain stone architraves that include projecting vermiculated keyblocks. To the right of the centre, there is a doorway with a similar architrave, which features a 6-panel door and an open 19th-century porch supported by panelled columns. The shallow-pitched roof has wide eaves and verges with plastered soffits. The gables are adorned with small leaded casements, and there is a round-headed sash window below a brick arch on the rear stair. The wing returns on the left side of the building. The interior has not been inspected.
