Description
No. 5 Bridge Street is a late 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall, constructed from local brick. It features a double pile pantile roof with coped gable ends, complete with kneelers and brick stacks. The façade includes five windows, which are hung sashes with glazing bars and flush frames. One of the ground floor windows has a stucco lintel, while another has been replaced by a 19th-century shop front with plain pilasters. The entrance door consists of six fielded panels and is set within a case that has plain pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice, topped with a rectangular leaded fanlight. A stucco band runs between the storeys. This building was previously a warehouse occupied by Haven Engineering and was formerly the Nelthorpe Arms Public House. It is part of a group with Nos 3, 4A, 5, and 6, as well as The Old Chapel.
