Description
The Old Chapel is a former chapel built in the early 19th century. It is two storeys high and constructed from pale brick, topped with a hipped Welsh slate roof in a classical style. The building features two full-height brick pilasters with stone caps and an entablature. There are three windows set in battered shouldered stone surrounds, each with a single glazed light. A brick band runs between the storeys, and the ground floor has two additional windows. Flanking the battered shouldered stone doorway, which is topped by a pediment on scroll consoles, are two foot scrapers. The door itself consists of eight fielded panels. The Old Chapel is part of a group that includes the warehouse occupied by Haven Engineering, the former Nelthorpe Arms Public House, and Nos 3, 4A, 5, and 6.
