Description
48, 49, 50, and 51 Bridge Street is an early 18th-century range of three storeys constructed in painted brick, with Nos 50 and 51 being stuccoed, under a pantile roof that has been replaced. Nos 48 and 49 feature one sliding sash window each on the top floor, while No 50 has a hung sash window on the same level. The first-floor windows, which are hung sashes, do not have glazing bars. No 48 includes one window on the ground floor and No 49 has a small canted bay. There is a modern door at No 48 and a moulded doorcase at No 49. The building has a painted plinth and a dentil eaves cornice. No 50 has a modern shop front, and No 51 features two sliding sash windows with glazing bars above two sliding sashes without glazing bars, along with a modern shop front and an elliptical carriage archway. There is a band between the first and ground floor at No 51, and end pilasters are present at this address. Nos 35 to 54 (consecutive), Nos 56 and 57, and the White Hart Public House form a group, with Nos 35 to 46 (consecutive) being of local interest.
