SE 9222-9322 WINTERINGHAM SILVER STREET (south side) 8/39 House approximately 30 metres north of Walnut Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Late C17 - early C18 with later extension to left. Earlier section in roughly-squared limestone with brick dressings; addition in coursed rubble. Brick stacks. Pantile roof. Original L-plan section has symmetrical 2-room central entrance front with kitchen to rear right and single-room extension to front left with rear outshut. 2 low stories; 3 first floor windows. Brick quoins to right. Entrance to right of centre has recessed C19 panelled door flanked by 12-pane sliding sashes with rendered brick cambered arches and later brick cills. Casement with glazing bars to left under rendered segmental brick arch. First floor has oval recess for former datestone above entrance, one 8-pane sliding sash under a wooden lintel at eaves level, and blocked windows of similar size to left and right. Stepped and dentilled brick eaves cornice. flipped roof with large original axial stack to rear and a pair of later axial stacks to front. Interior contains beamed ceilings. No longer in use as a house and partly derelict at time of re-survey.
