Description

This is a house dating from around 1800, located on the south side of West End in Winteringham. It is built from local red brick on the front, with red-brown brick to the sides and rear, and has a pantile roof. The house is L-shaped, with a single room at the front containing the entrance and staircase, and a kitchen to the rear. The building is three storeys high and has three bays.

The ground floor features an entrance doorway with a 20th-century door set within the original frame. A pair of original flush sash windows, with stone sills and later 19th-century four-pane glazing, flank the entrance, all set within incised stucco flat arches. The first floor has similarly styled windows, with the left-hand window being a dummy, positioned beneath slightly shallower arches. The second floor features smaller windows, with the left-hand window also a dummy, and a two-course stepped brick eaves. The roof is hipped to the left, with a cornice end stack on the right side.

Inside, there are six-panelled doors in architraves, and the front windows have panels below and sash hung shutters. The kitchen reveals exposed chamfered joists. The interior has not been fully investigated.
