Description

The James Reckitt Memorial, located at Reckitt and Colman (Pharmaceutical) Limited in Kingston upon Hull, is a commemorative memorial dated 1926 and designed by W Aumonier. It was funded by the company's employees. The memorial features a square pedestal made of ashlar with a chamfered plinth and a square base, adorned with leaf decoration at the top. On the front face of the pedestal is a portrait medallion, along with a half-size bronze figure of a seated woman and child. Surrounding the pedestal is a square paved area, and at each corner, there are square blocks supported by volutes, each topped with a small bronze figure of a child. This memorial honors Sir James Reckitt, recognized as a notably philanthropic employer.
