Description
The war memorial at Repton School was built in 1921 by Forsyth & Maule. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and has an octagonal shape. The memorial features three stone steps leading up to the octagonal base, which has a moulded top and a Latin inscription around its sides. Above this is a square upper base with curved cut-away corners and a concave moulding along the top. The memorial is topped with a shaft that has a square lower section, which transitions to an octagonal shape and tapers upwards. The sides of the shaft are panelled on the east and west. The top of the memorial is adorned with a decorative Gothic lantern in the Art Deco style. This structure is included in the listing for its group value.
