Description
Nos 24-28 on High Street is a terrace building from the early 19th century, likely with earlier origins. The front is made of brown brick, while the rear features coursed oolitic limestone, topped with a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and consists of five bays.
On the ground floor, No 24 has a symmetrical late 19th-century shopfront with a recessed glazed door. No 26 features a 20th-century door with an overlight set in a pilastered doorcase, alongside a boarded service door in a round-headed opening to the left. No 28 has a door with six raised and fielded panels and an overlight in a pilastered doorcase, complete with brackets to the cornice. This unit also has an early 19th-century shopfront with glazing bars to the right and a 4-pane sash window under a segmental head to the left.
The first floor has 4-pane sash windows with sills, and there is a dentilled brick eaves cornice. The axial stacks have been rebuilt on the right side.
