Description
The Manor House is a late 18th-century house located on Spring Road in Market Weighton. It is built of red brick and topped with a slate roof. The building has two storeys and attics, arranged in five bays with a 2:1:2 configuration. The entrance features a Roman Doric doorcase with pilasters and an entablature, leading to a four-panel bolection-moulded door with an overlight set in panelled reveals and soffit. This door is flanked by two six-pane unequal sash windows, which have sills and are set under segmental brick arches. The first floor also has similar windows. The house has end stacks and tumbled-in brick at the plain close verges. The Manor House is notable for retaining its original form and characteristic decorative features.
