Description
Tryste House is a Grade II listed house built in 1791. It is constructed of red brick and features a timber eaves cornice and a pantiled roof. The building has a central direct entry plan with a rear wing and stands two storeys high with attics, comprising five bays arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern.
The entrance door consists of six raised and fielded panels and is topped by a fanlight with radial glazing, set within panelled reveals and soffit. The doorcase is adorned with panelled pilasters, fluted dosserets, and an open pediment. To the right and left of the entrance, there are Venetian windows with sills beneath gauged brick heads.
On the first floor, there are five 6-pane unequal sash windows, each with sills under flat gauged brick heads. The house features a modillioned eaves cornice, end stacks, and raised coped gables on shaped kneelers. Additionally, two original rainwater heads, which are fluted and marked with "R.S. 1791," are located to the right and left of the central bay.
