Description

This warehouse, now converted into flats, dates from the late 18th century. Constructed of brick with timber-frame and weatherboarding, it has a timber eaves cornice and a cast pantile roof. The building is rectangular in plan and stands three storeys high, with a basement, and has 13 bays, including a loading gantry on the left side. The ground floor features 20th-century doors set within segmental arches, alternating with pairs of pivoted sash windows also within segmental arches. A semi-circular brick arch projects forward beneath the loading gantry, enclosing two boarded doors leading to the basement. A timber staircase provides access to the gantry. The first floor incorporates a gantry that rises through two floors; elsewhere, boarded taking-in doors alternate with pairs of pivoted sash windows, all set within segmental heads. The second floor has pivoted sash windows under segmental heads throughout. A bracketed eaves cornice runs along the top, and the raised coped gables add further detail.
