Description

Rose Garth is a house dating to around 1830. It is constructed of brick with a timber eaves cornice and a slate roof. The building is two storeys high with a two-window front. A central door provides direct entry. A Doric porch, featuring pilasters and a deep moulded cornice, stands at the front, sheltering a late 19th-century door with an oblong fanlight set within panelled reveals. On the ground floor, a late 19th-century canted bay with sash windows containing glazing bars is located to the right, and a sash window with glazing bars sits to the left, beneath a cambered, channelled wedge lintel. The first floor features a 16-pane sash window beneath a channelled wedge lintel to the right, and a similar 12-pane sash window to the left. A timber eaves cornice, embellished with paired brackets, runs along the top of the building. The roof is hipped with end stacks.
