Description
Riverhead Mill is a mid-19th century mill located on the south side of River Head in Driffield. The building is constructed of brown brick with weatherboarding on the gantry and features a pantiled roof. It stands four storeys high and has nine bays.
On the ground floor, there is a boarded door with a segmental head leading to the second bay, and double boarded doors to the sixth bay. To the left, there are two 20th-century windows with glazing bars in enlarged openings, while the remaining openings consist of casements with glazing bars, all under segmental heads.
The first floor features a 36-pane window to the left, with taking-in doors in the second and sixth bays, and pivoted 6-pane windows elsewhere, all with segmental heads. The second and third floors have 36-pane windows to the left, and all other windows are pivoted 6-pane, with 3-pane lights above in the second and third bays.
The gantry has a gabled roof over the sixth bay and plain close verges. A painted panel between the second and third floors reads 'E. B. BRADSHAW & SONS LTD., RIVERHEAD MILL'.
