Description

Walbut Bridge is a road bridge over the Pocklington Canal, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in English bond with gritstone dressings. The bridge features a basket arch supported by half-round abutments, which are topped with gritstone copings. There is a band at the level of the bridge deck, and the coped and splayed parapets end in square abutments. The bridge is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
