Description

A late 18th-century mill and house situated on Bielby Mill Lane. The building is constructed of red brick, colourwashed, with a pantiled roof. The mill is three storeys high, with four bays to the ground floor. A 20th-century porch with a boarded door is located between bays 3 and 4, flanked by a four-pane sash window to the right and a boarded door to the left. A boarded opening is situated under a segmental head in bay 2. The first floor features a six-pane window under a segmental head in the centre, flanked by a four-pane sash window to the right and a boarded opening under a segmental head to the left. The second floor has small boarded openings under segmental heads on both the right and left sides. An end stack with tumbled-in brickwork is visible on the right, extending up to the raised gables. The mill’s interior has not been inspected. To the right of the mill is a two-storey house, one bay wide, with four-pane sash windows having sills to both the ground and first floors. An end stack, also with tumbled-in brickwork to the raised gables, is present.
