Description

Coat's Lock is a canal lock built in 1818 by George Leather for the Pocklington Canal Company. It is constructed of red brick and ashlar, featuring gritstone coping. The lock has a rectangular chamber that is splayed to the north at a high level, with stepped sides to the south.
