Description

Giles Lock is a lock on the Pocklington Canal, built around 1813 by George Leather for the Pocklington Canal Company. It is constructed of red brick with gritstone dressings. The lock chamber has parallel sides and rounded splays, and it is stepped at the lower end. At the time of the last survey, the lock was disused and in a derelict condition.
