Description
The Rectory is an early 19th-century house, originally a rectory, situated on Main Street, Everingham. The building is constructed of grey brick with stone dressings, and has a graduated slate roof. It is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-bay front elevation. The front entrance features a four-panel door, surmounted by a fanlight with radially arranged glazing. The door is set within a doorcase featuring attached Roman Doric columns, fluted dosserets, and an open dentilled pediment. Canted bays with sash windows containing glazing bars extend to the right and left of the entrance. A first-floor band runs the length of the facade. Above the door is a twelve-pane sash window flanked by sixteen-pane sashes, all with sills and set under flat, gauged brick arches. End stacks rise from the roof, which is hipped.
