Description

No. 38 Southgate is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations and extensions made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of orange brick and features a timber eaves cornice and a pantile roof. The original structure is two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-bay elevation. The entrance includes a six-panel door with an overlight that has glazing bars, set within a pilastered doorcase topped by a pediment. There are blocked sash windows with sills beneath wedge lintels on both sides of the door. On the first floor, there are four-pane sash windows with sills under cambered brick heads.
