Description
Abbots Grange Nursing Home is a house, now serving as a nursing home, built around 1860, likely designed by Walter Scott. The building is constructed of brick and features a Welsh slate roof with scalloped bands. It has two storeys and a five-window range, with an asymmetrical layout and a doorway located to the right of the centre. The design is in the Gothic style, highlighted by a full-height advanced gable over the entrance, which includes a projecting gabled porch with a moulded archway. Above the entrance, there are paired windows, and to the right, paired stilted arched windows, along with a steep dormer with a coped gable positioned over the first-floor window. To the left, there are three windows featuring Y-tracery and stilted arches. The building is adorned with decorative white brick bands and diaper work, and it has a gable end stack.
