Description
The Manor House is a house, now functioning as a nursing home, built around 1857, likely designed by John Cunningham. It features ashlar stonework and a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and a four-window range, with a later taller rear block that includes an attic storey. The central entrance is set within a porch supported by paired Doric columns, flanked by sash windows and a full-height bay window. The return elevation has three windows and a central full-height canted bay. All windows are framed with stressed architraves and have pedimented hoods on the ground floor. The eaves are adorned with a modillion cornice and angle quoins. The later rear block is designed in a similar style, featuring a five-window range on the garden front, with outer canted bay windows on the ground floor topped with balustraded parapets. Above, there are 16-pane sash windows, with ground floor windows also having pedimented hoods. The attic storey includes segmentally-arched dormers that break the eaves line. At the rear, there is a belvedere tower with triple round-arched windows and a low pyramidal roof, along with axial stacks.
