Description
The K6 telephone kiosk, located on Hamilton Street at the junction with Duncan Street, adjacent to Hamilton Square, is a Grade II listed structure. Designed in 1935 by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, this kiosk is made from cast-iron and glass.
The K6 features a standardized design, painted red, and consists of a square structure topped with a shallow domed roof. The door and sides are adorned with eight horizontal strips of glass, complemented by narrow margin lights. Above these, the top panels display rectangular white signs that read "TELEPHONE," each topped with applied relief crowns. Both telephone kiosks are intact but have modernized internal equipment.
