Description

This is a terrace of four houses located at 25 to 31 Manor Place, built around 1856 for James and George Wilson. The houses are constructed of brick and feature a hipped slate roof. They are two storeys high with eight bays. The windows have cut-brick flat arches and are sash windows with glazing bars. The second and seventh bays on the ground floor have blind windows. There are paired central Tudor-headed entrances with 20th-century doors, and entrances to the returns. The terrace includes two cross-axial stacks and has a continuous outshut at the rear. This building is part of a planned village for Price's Patent Candle Company, which is one of the earliest examples of a model industrial village.
