Description
Nos. 320 and 322 on New Chester Road are a pair of houses built in 1898 by Grayson and Ould. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings, featuring a plaster first floor and a hipped tile roof. The houses are one storey with an attic and consist of three bays, with the third bay projecting under a gable.
The ground floor has a cornice and a diapered gable, with windows that have stone lintels and leaded casements. The first and second bays each have three-light windows, while the third bay features four and two-light windows. The first floor includes windows with flanking flat pilasters, consisting of three lights in gabled half-dormers, and diapered aprons in the first and second bays. The third bay has paired cross-casements, and there is a round window located between the first and second bays.
The houses have two cross-axial stacks, and the entrances to the returns are covered by canopies and have plank doors. The right return has a hipped projection and a lateral stack. The rear of the houses is similar in design and includes privies.
