Description

A pair of semi-detached houses dating from approximately 1842 to 1845, altered subsequently. The houses are constructed of scored stucco (number 27) and render (number 29), with a slate roof. They are built in a "Regency" Tudor style, with a double-depth hall-adjoining plan, each house being single-fronted.

The exterior is two storeys high with two windows in each house, making a total of four. The design is symmetrical. Tudor-arched doorways include Tudor-arched glazed panels in the doors and overlights, with Tudor-arched glazing bars. These are protected by coupled Tudor-arched wooden porches with pilasters and cornices. Above each doorway are three-light windows, coupled and set beneath a hoodmould. These are flanked by shallow, two-storey bay windows with tall Tudor-arched lights on both floors, topped with gablets. The roof has oversailing eaves and verges, with gable chimneys.

The interior was not inspected.

The houses are set within a group and relate to numbers 23 and 25 to the left and numbers 31 and 33 to the right.
