Description
This building is a barn, now used as a store or garage, located on the east side of the farmyard to the south-west of Meols Hall. It was probably built in the early 19th century and has been altered since then. The barn is constructed of red brick in English garden wall bond, with a slate roof and a rectangular plan.
The exterior features a 20th-century sliding door that is offset to the left of center, with a recess to its right. There is a large X-pattern breather to the left, and a segmental-headed doorway at the right-hand end, accompanied by a small 9-pane fixed window to its left and a circular pitching hole beneath the eaves above. The left gable wall has two breathers similar to those at the front.
The interior has not been inspected. This barn is an integral part of the farmyard complex and forms a group with the gate piers and boundary wall, the barn on the west side of the courtyard, the cart shed on the south side, and Meols Hall to the east.
