Description
No. 28 Marine Crescent is a house that is part of a terraced row, built around 1826-1830 and altered over time. The exterior features painted stucco and a slate roof with rendered chimneys on the left side. The house has a double-depth single-fronted layout with a back extension, standing two stories high with two windows. It has a moulded gutter cornice and a simple verandah supported by wooden posts, topped with a lead-clad roof.
On the ground floor, there is a tall square-headed doorway on the right with a plain overlight, alongside a large canted bay window that has full-height 20th-century glazing. The first floor features a pair of bowed flat-roofed oriel windows, also with 20th-century glazing. The interior has not been inspected. The house is adjacent to Nos. 26 and 27 on the right and No. 29 on the left. All the listed buildings in Marine Crescent, along with those in Adelaide Terrace, Bath Street, Beach Lawn, and Marine Terrace, contribute to a group within the Waterloo Conservation Area of Crosby.
